President's Message - December 2024

Updated: Dec 28, 2024

Greetings Friends,

The weather outside might be frightful and the Manor House closed, but we continue to get Fintry ready for another year, with grant applications, cataloguing the collection and putting our gift shop merchandise online.

Who wouldn’t love a Laird of Fintry T-shirt for Christmas? Or perhaps one of our books telling the Fintry story, “Lives, Loves and Dreams”? Check out our online store on our website Fintry.ca for some wonderful Christmas gift-giving ideas.

While our volunteers get to relax a little over the winter months, Jaimie, our Business Manager is one busy girl at this time of year as she keeps on top of all our technical needs, as well as applying for grants, cataloguing, planning for next year’s Fairs and keeping us all in line! Thank-you Jaimie!

December is the perfect time to volunteer, donate or perform random acts of kindness! It’s a season of giving and every small act counts. Embrace the beauty of the season, slow down and appreciate the little things that make life magical.

Thank you for being part of our community this past year. We are so grateful for each and every one of you and we look forward to continuing this journey together in the New Year. To our spurtle maker, our silverware cleaners, our dusters and weed pullers, as well as our wonderful tour guides, I wish you all a peaceful and joyful season filled with harmony, love and new beginnings.

Kathy Drew,
