President's Message - November 2024

Updated: Dec 28, 2024

Greetings Friends,

As the crisp air of November settles in, we reflect on the exciting events and memorable moments of this past season. Our museum, rich in history and dedicated to preserving and sharing this area's heritage, has closed its doors for the winter. This past year has been one of our most successful yet and we couldn't have done it without the support of members like you.

We were extremely thankful we did not have to deal with smoke and fires this year, although on one of the of the hottest days of the year we held our new event, (in keeping with our Scottish heritage) the Highland Fair, introducing several crazy events. The Fintry Bat Festival, held in August. was another first for us as we introduced our visitors to those incredible little mammals that spend the summer in the Manor House attic. The Fintry Fusion Art Show and strawberry cream tea, a two-day event held in June, brought several hundred people to view the work of local artists displayed throughout the Manor House. Watch for this event in June 2025. We also hosted several beautiful wedding ceremonies on the grounds of the Manor House. Throughout the year we hosted several school groups, private groups as well as giving tours of the barns and the Manor House to visitors from all over the world.

How can you support us during the Off-season? Even though we're closed for the winter, there are still plenty of ways to support the Friends of Fintry during the off-season.

Make a Donation: Your generous donations allow us to preserve our collections, offer educational programs and maintain our beautiful historic site. Visit our website www.fintry.ca to make a tax-deductible donation.

Become a member: If you're not already a member, now is the perfect time to join. Membership keeps you informed of all Friends of Fintry goings-on as well as having your say at the Annual General Meeting in the summer. Membership forms are available through our website www.fintry.ca.

Spread the word: Help us reach more people by sharing your favourite museum experiences with friends and family. A simple recommendation can go a long way in helping us grow.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for making this year so special. Whether you visited, donated, volunteered, or spread the word about our site, you are an integral part of our success.

Stay cosy,

Kathy Drew,

Friends of Fintry Provincial Park
